President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the Zabrat-Mashtaga-Buzovna and Zabrat-Pirhsagi highways after major overhaul and reconstruction.

In accordance with the “Action Plan on improving the transport system in Baku for 2006-2007” and the “Plan of additional measures on improving the transport system in Baku for 2008-2013”, overpasses, bridges, tunnels, pedestrian subways and crossings meeting the highest standards were constructed and high-quality roads were laid in different districts of the capital.

Today the construction of these installations and roads continues in different parts of the city.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the technical parameters of the Zabrat-Mashtaga-Buzovna and Zabrat-Pirshagi highways after major overhaul and reconstruction. It was noted that the reconstruction of the highway from the Sabunchu road junction to the Zabrat circle will significantly improve the transport connection in Sabunchu, Balakhani, Zabrat, Mashtaga, Kurdakhani, Pirshagi and Mahammadli districts of Baku, as well as facilitate movement of vehicles going to the city center. It was noted that there was a need of major reconstruction of the road after the communication, water, effluent disposal and other lines were laid in March 2012. All the necessary measures were taken to broaden the road. The road is 7 km in length, 23 meters in width, and has 6 traffic lanes.

The major overhaul and reconstruction works of the highway from the Sabunchu road junction to the Zabrat circle started in June 2012 and was finished in September, this year. There is a plan of further improvement of transport connection of Bilgah, Buzovna, Mashtaga, Nardaran, Kurdakhani and other villages and settlements of the northern part of Absheron peninsula with Baku and other regions of the country, as well as the reconstruction of Buzovna-Zabrat 15-km highway with 6 traffic lanes as an alternative road in Buzovna-Mardakhan-Airport-Baku direction. The reconstruction of the 9-km Pirshagi-Zabrat highway initiated by the Executive Authority of Baku city will improve the transport connection of villages and settlements in the northern part of the peninsula with the population of more than 200 thousand people.

The head of state reviewed the work and gave relevant instructions.
