Ilham Aliyev reviewed secondary school No 1 in the Nasimi district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed secondary school No 1 in the Nasimi district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction.

The educational institution has been fully reconstructed in accordance with the action plan for the overhaul and reconstruction of schools under the state program of the socioeconomic development of Baku and its suburban settlements.

President Ilham Aliyev first reviewed the photo stand describing the state of the school before and after the renovation.

Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the President about the work done. He said the two-storey building of the school was constructed in 1870. In 1897, it was acquired by the Baku millionaire and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, was rebuilt and operated as a girls' school. At present, the school has 24 classrooms and provides education to 700 pupils.

Classes are held in two shifts.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the school.

Subject classrooms and laboratories are fitted with necessary visual aids and equipment. The science class is equipped with modern computers. The assembly hall and the library have been renovated to modern standards. Ten additional classrooms are to be built in the school. The area adjacent to the institution has been landscaped.

After examining the work done, the President gave relevant instructions.
