Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Azerbaijan Bonifes Guva Britto Chidyausiku.

The ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

Ambassador Bonifes Guva Britto Chidyausiku presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Bonifes Guva Britto Chidyausiku conveyed greetings on behalf of President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe to President Ilham Aliyev. He said his country was interested in developing the cooperation with Azerbaijan in political, energy, investment areas and in the implementation of various economic projects. Pointing to the bilateral cooperation within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations, the diplomat stressed the importance of Azerbaijan’s membership in the UN Security Council.

The President expressed his gratitude to the government of Zimbabwe for its support of Azerbaijan in the election to the UN Security Council. Noting that our countries were successfully cooperating within the framework of international organizations, President Ilham Aliyev said there were good opportunities for developing bilateral relations, including those in the economic field.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe and asked the diplomat to communicate his greetings to the President.
