Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador of Canada to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Azerbaijan John Holmes.

The Ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

Ambassador John Holmes presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Ambassador John Holmes said he was impressed with the extensive development ongoing in Azerbaijan. The diplomat pointed to the extensive opportunities for developing cooperation in the areas of aviation, education, internet governance, construction, etc. He said he would do his best as Ambassador to further develop bilateral relations.

President Ilham Aliyev said he was pleased with the development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Canada in various spheres and expressed hope that these ties would continue to expand. The President wished the Ambassador every success.

The sides also exchanged views on ways of further deepening bilateral cooperation in different areas.
