Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador of Estonia to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and

Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Azerbaijan, Miko Haljas.

The Ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

Ambassador Miko Haljas presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President had a discussion with the Ambassador.

The President stressed that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia are at a high level. Recalling his official visit to Estonia and the official visit of the President of Estonia to Azerbaijan, President Aliyev noted the importance of mutual high-level visits for the development of relations. The President expressed his confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia would successfully develop in the coming years.

Stressing that the main areas of cooperation between the two countries in the political and economic spheres were causing satisfaction, Ambassador Miko Haljas expressed hope for a further expansion of this cooperation in the future. The diplomat noted the role of the joint Estonian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission for the strengthening of bilateral relations.

Stressing that Estonia supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the Ambassador said his country was in favor of a speedy settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The sides emphasized the existence of good opportunities for cooperation between the two countries within the European Union’s "Eastern Partnership" program, expansion of ties in the field of energy, information and communication technologies, education and other areas.
