Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of a newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to Azerbaijan, Alhaji Tukur Mani.

The Ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

Ambassador Alhaji Tukur Mani presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Stressing that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Nigeria are successfully developing, the President noted the need for a further strengthening of this cooperation. President Aliyev recalled with satisfaction his meeting with the President of Nigeria on the sidelines of the Seoul Nuclear Security Summit. Noting that the two countries support each other in international organizations, the President expressed his confidence that this support would be continued in the coming years.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Alhaji Tukur Mani conveyed greetings on behalf of President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan. Noting the availability of great opportunities for the expansion of bilateral relations in various fields, the Ambassador said he would spare no effort to further strengthen the relationship.

The sides exchanged views on further strengthening the ties between the two countries in economic, energy, trade, education and other areas.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings from President Goodluck Jonathan and asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings to the head of the Nigerian state.
