Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Fizuli cold-storage warehouse

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Fizuli cold-storage warehouse.

The President was informed that the warehouse was built in the village of Ahmadbayli of Fizuli District in full accordance with modern standards. In order to establish the warehouse worth 4.5 million mantas, the National Fund on Entrepreneurship Support of the Ministry of Economic Development had allocated a soft loan of 3.2 million manats. The total capacity of the warehouse, built on an area of ​​2 hectares, is 5 000 tons. The warehouse operates ventilation and humidification systems and air compressors bought in from Germany, Italy and Finland, and has a fully equipped sorting and packing workshop. The cold-storage warehouse is intended to store mainly vegetables - potatoes and onions grown by the IDPs settled in Fizuli and surrounding districts.

It was noted that the warehouse currently stores more than 2,000 tons of onions and potatoes and another 3,000 tons will be harvested shortly. The products are packed in different weight packs and dispatched directly to retailers.

It was indicated that the commissioning of the complex will further improve the living standards of the district population, including the IDPs, and help increase the production of vegetables.

President Ilham Aliyev was also informed about the soft loans granted to the entrepreneurs of the Upper Karabakh Economic Region by the National Fund on Entrepreneurship Support. The executive director of the Fund, Shirzad Abdullayev, said that 627 business entities of the Upper Karabakh Economic Region were provided with preferential loans of 16.2 million manats, including 10.8 million manats to finance five investment projects based on new technologies. These projects will create about 1,600 new jobs. In addition, the Fund has allocated a soft loan of 5 million manats to a high-tech poultry farm in Fizuli District with a capacity of 2,100 tons of poultry per year, 1.1 million manats to a modern livestock farm in Agdam District with a capacity of 3,400 tons of milk and 115 tons of meat per year, 1.4 million manats a the cold-storage warehouse and 113,000 manats to a vineyard capable of growing 320 tons of grapes a year in Tartar District.

President Aliyev was informed about the commissioning of the "Karabakh Broiler" farm.

It was noted that the farm was established on the basis of a rundown livestock farm in the Karabakh village of Fizuli District located on an area that was liberated from enemy occupation by the Azerbaijani army under the command of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in 1994. This project has also been implemented using soft loans of the state. The total cost of the farm is 7.2 million manats. The National Entrepreneurship Support Fund had allocated a soft loan of 5 million manats. The farm covers an area of 25 hectares. A total of 14 poultry farms have been remodeled, and a slaughterhouse and a freezer with a capacity of 150 tons built. The poultry farm has modern feeding, ventilation, plucking, refrigerating and slaughtering equipment supplied from Turkey. The farm is to produce 2,100 tons of poultry of different assortment annually. The products will be marketed under the brand name of "Karabakh Broiler". The poultry farm employs 120 IDPs from Fizuli and surrounding districts.

The head of state praised the work done and gave instructions and recommendations.
