After the one-on-one meeting, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic held a meeting in an expanded format with the participation of delegations.

Addressing the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev said:

- Dear Mr. President!

Dear guests!

I warmly welcome you all to Azerbaijan again.

This is your first visit to Azerbaijan and I am sure that it will produce great results. We have already held a broad exchange of views and can confirm that there are good opportunities for cooperation in all fields.

I am sure that your visit will further strengthen our political ties. Of course, these links will give a powerful impetus to the development of our relations in the economic sphere. We already have a great experience of joint activities in the economic sphere. I am sure that specific and precise decisions on new projects will be made in the course of the visit. In particular, there are good prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and investment.

I am confident that your visit will be very important for the development of Serbian-Azerbaijani relations in general and that you will return to your country with the best impressions and experiences.

Welcome once again.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic said:

- Mr. President, I think there is no need for additional comments about the good attitude of Serbia towards Azerbaijan.

This friendship is constant regardless of who is in power in Serbia. Azerbaijan has become Serbia's very reliable partner in the eastern part of the world.

People in your country live in freedom under your wise leadership. I believe that this friendship is beneficial to both parties and it is high time we transformed this friendship into concrete economic cooperation. In fact, Serbia will always do it for you free of charge. We want you to help us further expand the scale of the work we have done so far. I believe that direct investment between our countries could be investment in the long-term future.
