Ilham Aliyev reviewed the reconstruction of the Gobustan-Khilmilli motor road

President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the reconstruction of the Gobustan-Khilmilli motor road.

The President of Azerbaijan reviewed the photo stand reflecting information about the road.

In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, work on the improvement and modernization of the road infrastructure in the regions has become widespread in recent years. Currently, the focus is also on the construction of rural roads in the country. As part of this, work has been completed on the reconstruction of the Gobustan-Khilmilli motor road.

It was noted that the construction of the road began in September 2011. The road links six villages with a population of 13,000 people with the district center. The total length of the Gobustan-Khilmilli road is 23 km. In accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, 2 million manats was allocated for the implementation of this important infrastructure project in 2011 and a further 5.3 million manats was provided last year. The new road has made the movement of people from the Khilmilli, Sundu, Becke, Nabur, Jeyirli and Chalov villages much more comfortable.

President Ilham Aliyev met with local residents here and congratulated them on the opening of the new road. He said:

- Hello, my greetings! A road, a comfortable road has been built and you can comfortably use it now. Where there is a road, there is development and comfort. This is a road linking six villages. Moreover, it has been constructed with high quality. The Azerbaijani government is doing all that is necessary for the convenience of people.

RESIDENTS: Thank you very much, Mr. President. May Allah be pleased with you! Thank you.

President Ilham Aliyev: You know best of all the previous condition of the road. It was difficult to drive on it. And now you can comfortably travel to the district center, Baku and other cities.

Road construction is progressing at a rapid pace in Azerbaijan. Of course, first of all we dealt with the construction of roads connecting major cities. The Baku-Shamakhi road was reconstructed and is now being expanding. It will be a four-lane road. So now the distance between Baku and Shamakhi can be covered in less time. You will be able to drive in comfort. Of course, after the repair and construction of highways, we got down to the construction of rural roads, and this road is a perfect example of that.

RESIDENTS: It is a beautiful road. Thank you very much, Mr. President. We are grateful to you. May Allah be pleased with you! May Allah help you in all matters! Thank you, thank you very much indeed.

President Ilham Aliyev: Thank you. There are 30 settlements in Gobustan. And this road connects six villages. We will repair the roads to other mountain villages too, so that all the people could be happy. Once again I congratulate you!

Getting behind the wheel of a car, the President of Azerbaijan drove along the new road.

President Ilham Aliyev also met with residents of the Khilmilli village and enquired about their living conditions. He asked:

- How is your life?

RESIDENT: Our life is great. Thank you very much. You provide us with everything. Everything is fine. We have gas, electricity, there are no problems with water either.

President Ilham Aliyev: And it will be even better. We have built the road and you can drive in comfort now. How is your life?

RESIDENT: Very good! We live well. We have everything. May Allah be pleased with you! We live well.

President Ilham Aliyev: How about the local authorities?

RESIDENT: Very good, Mr. President! May Allah grant you good health and long life! Our only problem was the road. And you paved the road for us and given us gas.

President Ilham Aliyev: There must be everything everywhere, in every village. The main thing was the road. And now we have a beautiful road, which looks like a highway.

RESIDENT: Yes, it is very good! Thank you very much!
