Dear congress participants!
Greetings to you, the participants of the Third International Congress "Baku Heart Days" in Baku! I am sure that the discussion of the pressing problems of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery will contribute to the development of medical science in our country.
This international congress has already become a tradition. The fact that the current Congress is dedicated to the 90th birthday anniversary of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev carries a deep symbolic meaning. Heydar Aliyev made an exceptional contribution to the continuous improvement of the healthcare system in our country and its development in accordance with the latest standards.
In continuation of the work done in this area, the development of the healthcare in our country is still one of the priority areas of the socially-oriented government policy. At present, modern diagnostic centers and hospitals have been commissioned in various regions of the country, while the existing clinics have been overhauled and fitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment. Special place in the ongoing programs is occupied by the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and the training of young and highly-qualified personnel in the field.
I do hope that this Congress, which represents great academic, scientific and practical importance, will further strengthen the ties between Azerbaijani specialists and their foreign counterparts and contribute to the development of medical science in general.
