Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of newly-appointed ambassador of the United Mexican States

President Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of a newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to Azerbaijan, Jaime Enrique Garcia Amaral.

The ambassador was greeted by the guard of honor.

Ambassador Jaime Enrique Garcia Amaral submitted his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
Then the President of Azerbaijan spoke to the ambassador.

Referring to the activities of Azerbaijan’s permanent mission in the United Mexican States, the President said that the embassy in Mexico is the country's first diplomatic mission in Latin America. He noted the importance of the embassy from the standpoint of the two countries getting to know each other better.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope for a successful development of relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Jaime Enrique Garcia Amaral conveyed the greetings of President of the United Mexican States Felipe Calderon. He thanked the head of state for the activities of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic mission in his country. The ambassador indicated that the beginning of the embassy’s operation in Mexico coincided with historical dates – the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence and 100th anniversary of the Mexican revolution.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked the diplomat for the greetings from President Felipe Calderon and asked the ambassador to communicate his best wishes to the head of the Mexican state.
