Ilham Aliyev reviewed progress of construction of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Oguz

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed progress of construction of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Oguz.

The head of state reviewed a layout of the center and watched a video describing the project. It was noted that the construction of the center had begun in May 2013. The construction of the center, which has an interesting design, is continuing at an accelerated pace. The total area of the three-storey building is 7,500 square meters. There will be a parking lot, a canteen and technical facilities in the basement of the building. A bust of nationwide leader will be erected in the lobby of the center. The establishment of the new center will play an important part in studying and promoting the rich heritage of the great leader in Oguz. There will also be a photo stand documenting child, adolescent and college years of the nationwide leader, his tenure in the State Security Committee, as first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, then as first deputy chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, as well as his work in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 1990-1992, foreign visits and trips to the regions of the country as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the first floor of the building will house a museum, a VIP-room, an internet cafe, and a 3D cinema. On the second floor there will be carpet-weaving and history museums of Albania, a coffee lounge, meeting rooms, dance and design studios, a printing shop, a showroom, and offices. The third floor will house a national dance studio, two libraries, rooms for literature, sculpture, cooking and computer classes, foreign language courses and offices. The construction is carried out by the Azerbaijan Investment Group. The project has been commissioned by the Public Association on support for the conservation of cultural heritage and is financed by the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

The work is scheduled for completion at the end of 2014. A total of 25-30 people will be provided with permanent jobs at the center.

It was pointed out that the Heydar Aliyev Center under construction in the avenue named after the great leader in Oguz will impart further beauty to the city.

After reviewing the progress of work at the center, President Ilham Aliyev gave further instructions and recommendations.
