As part of a visit to Gakh, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center

As is the case elsewhere in Azerbaijan, the people of Gakh revere the memory of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. The new Heydar Aliyev Center built in the city is a sign of great reverence for the memory of the great leader. The center displays a number of photographs reflecting the measures taken thanks to the wise policy of the great leader to prevent civil war in the early years of our independence, take the country out of the economic crisis, put it on a path of development, raise the profile of Azerbaijan in the international arena and build a powerful army.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center.

The President of Azerbaijan was informed that the construction of the Center, built in the modern style and in line with the traditions of national architecture, had begun in November 2011. The construction, in which local materials were used, has been financed from the district budget. In the lobby of the Center there is a statue of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and an information kiosk. The main hall with a total area of 670 square meters is divided in four parts, but thanks to removable partitions it can take the form of a single room where conferences of up to 600 people can be held. Side walls of the hall are covered with octagonal glass ornaments. Special screens and boards display images from the life and activities of the nationwide leader. A part of the hall is fenced by a special eight-layer electronic curtain and serves as a cinema. It shows films about the modern history of Azerbaijan’s economic and social development.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed as electronic map of Gakh District, as well as an electronic display showing great leader’s visits to foreign countries.

The center will operate clubs on choreography, national and ballroom dancing, etc. There are also classes of English, Japanese and Russian languages. There is an Internet café, an online library and virtual rooms here as well, which also meet high standards.

The head of state left a note in the guest book of the Center.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done at the Heydar Aliyev Center.
