Ilham Aliyev reviewed secondary schools No 135 and 248 in the Binagadi district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed secondary schools No 135 and 248 in the Binagadi district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction.

In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, consistent measures have been taken to accelerate the socioeconomic development of Baku and its suburban settlements. According to the action plan envisaged under the special state program, major reconstruction of educational, healthcare and culture institutions is being successfully implemented. The construction of new schools and kindergartens is also in full swing.

On the eve of the new school year, schools are being reconstructed in accordance with the highest standards and fitted with the necessary equipment in the capital city, suburban settlements and indeed elsewhere in the country. School campuses are being landscaped and improved.

First, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the building of secondary school No 135 in the Binagadi district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction.

The head of state examined the photo stand reflecting the state of the school prior to repairs.

Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the President about the work done. It was noted that the school was put into operation in 1970. Major repairs and reconstruction of the school have been carried out in accordance with the highest standards. Electrical and communication lines have been replaced and a modern heating system installed. All of the classrooms for 1,020 pupils, the gym, the assembly hall and the canteen have been fully renovated. The open playground in the courtyard has also been rebuilt. Classes at the school will be conducted in one shift.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the major overhaul and reconstruction of secondary school No 248. The President was informed about the work done here. It was noted that the school was put into operation in 1969. The school for 1,020 pupils has 41 classrooms. Classes are held in one shift. All classrooms, subject-specific rooms, the gym and the assembly hall have been refurbished to a high standard. The lighting and heating systems of the school meet contemporary requirements.

The head of state visited some of the classrooms and subject-specific rooms, the gym and the assembly hall.

The playground outside the school has also been reconstructed. The area around the school has been landscaped.
