President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Naftalan.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center.

It was noted that the establishment of the center is aimed at studying the life and activities, as well as the rich political heritage of great leader Heydar Aliyev who paid constant attention to the development of Naftalan and other regions of Azerbaijan. The construction of the center, located in the Heydar Aliyev Park, was launched in August last year and was completed in September of this year. The construction area of the two-storey building of the center is 722 square meters.

There are photo stands reflecting different aspects of the great leader’s life and work. The stands display pictures describing the nationwide leader’s visits to Naftalan, as well as his attention and support for the development of culture and sports. Particularly interesting are photographs relating to the 1969-1982 period, when the brilliant politician led Azerbaijan, as well as his spell as First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers.

The center has a conference room for 120 people, which is well suited for hosting various events, a digital library, foreign language courses, an Internet room, an art gallery and a small conference room.

The President of Azerbaijan expressed his satisfaction with the work done at the center.
