President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the “Halal Qida” dairy plant and complex for the procurement, storage and sale of vegetables in Gadabay.

The President of Azerbaijan was informed that the total value of the complex is 4.1 million manats and a preferential loan of 2.8 million manats had been allocated for the implementation of the project from the National Fund on Entrepreneurship Support under the Ministry of Economic Development. The 10,000-ton cold storage complex is fitted with equipment manufactured abroad. The cold storage complex will enable long-term and loss-free storage of vegetables grown by entrepreneurs from Gadabay and neighboring districts and facilitate the provision of local markets in other seasons.

The potato processing site with a daily capacity of 5 tons has been established on the basis of Dutch technologies. This is where potatoes will be washed, sorted and, taking into consideration the growing consumer demand for semi-finished-products, peeled and packed into vacuum containers. It was noted that the dairy products and potatoes will be sold both in the domestic market and exported to foreign countries. The raw materials base of the enterprise will be provided with products procured by local farmers. The project will provide 74 people with jobs.

The executive director of the National Fund on Entrepreneurship Support under the Ministry of Economic Development, Shirzad Abdullayev, provided President Ilham Aliyev with information about production and processing facilities of this complex and other districts of the region. It was noted that five types and 30 denominations of sausages and two types of semi-finished products (including semi-finished donar sandwiches) are produced in Ganja, a meat production factory with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons, a butchery with an annual capacity of 1,000 tons and a cold storage facility with a capacity of 1,000 tons operate in Dashkasan and a broiler factory with an annual capacity of 1,600 tons operates in Samukh under the brand names of “Elba” and “Hala Qida”. A modern butchery and meat processing factory with an annual butchering capacity of 12,000 tons and processing capacity of 3,200 tons is now under construction in Ganja. It will be based on German and Turkish technology. In addition to the Ganja-Gazakh economic region, the meat products are sold in other cities and districts of the republic. The implementation of this project has been facilitated by a preferential loan allocated by the National Fund on Entrepreneurship Support under the Ministry of Economic Development.

The head of state also reviewed the dairy plant with a daily capacity of 10 tons. It was noted that the plant was fitted with cutting-edge technologies and was expected to produce cheese, Caucasian milk, sour cream and other dairy products at the initial stage. There are plans to expand the area of the plant in the future to enable provision with state-of-the-art equipment of Sweden’s “Tetra Pak”, environmentally friendly packaging and long-term storage of products. The products will be manufactured under the brand name of “Gadabay”.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done and gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
