President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Excelsior Hotel in Shamkir.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the hotel.
It was noted that the hotel has 63 rooms: standard, double and single. They are well suited for recreation. The rooms are equipped with the latest information and communication technologies and the vintage ornaments of Shamkir carpets have been used in their design. The hotel is equipped with a modern ventilation system, has a restaurant, a bar, a conference hall, a SPA center, a massage room, Turkish baths, a sauna and a swimming pool. Three types of beer are brewed using Austrian equipment here, while the "House of Wine" stores up to 750 bottles of local and foreign wines. The total area of the five-storey hotel is 9,000 square meters. In general, the complex covers an area of 10,200 square meters.
The opening of the hotel also means the creation of many new jobs. The new hotel is an indicator of Shamkir’s and the region’s tourism potential. The transformation of tourism into an important sector of the economy and the creation of a solid foundation for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in this area also contribute to the development of the regional infrastructure. Taking into account the broad tourism opportunities in the region, we can understand how important such facilities are. These projects will also contribute to an even greater influx of tourists to Azerbaijani regions and provide them with ample opportunities to showcase their tourism potential.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the work done at the hotel and gave further instructions and recommendations.
