President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan, Irfan Siddiq.

Ambassador Irfan Siddiq reviewed the guard of honor.

Irfan Siddiq presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev had a discussion with the Ambassador.

The head of state pointed to the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain. President Ilham Aliyev said that the relations between the two countries were developing rapidly in a variety of directions in recent years, including political, economic, energy and other areas. Recalling with satisfaction his visits to London and last year's meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of the fact that Britain was one of Azerbaijan’s key partners in the European Union. Emphasizing that the United Kingdom was also one of the major investors in our country, the President noted the importance of the successful operation of British companies in Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan Irfan Siddiq noted the mutual interest in expanding the rapidly developing bilateral relations in various areas, including the economic sphere. Ambassador Siddiq assured the President that he would make every effort in this direction during his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
