Your Excellency,
On the occasion of your resounding victory in the recent presidential election, I wish to present to you, on behalf of UNESCO and in my own name, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for your continued success in the highest office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Allow me to take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation for the important role your country plays in UNESCO`s fields of competence. I have fond memories of my visit to Azerbaijan last May, at which time I witnessed the solid commitment of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the objectives of international multilateral cooperation and development.
Your country`s support to the global mission of our Organization also is illustrated by the significant work of the First Lady, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Oral and Musical Traditions.
I am confident that the excellent ties of cooperation that exist between Azerbaijan and UNESCO will be reinforced further in the years to come. You may rest assured that I, for my part, will spare no effort to that end.
