President Ilham Aliyev has received a member of the British Parliament and the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Charles Hendry.

Charles Hendry congratulated the head of state on his re-election as President of the Azerbaijan Republic. He conveyed greetings and best wishes from British Prime Minister David Cameron to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev noted with satisfaction that after the restoration of the independence of Azerbaijan, close ties were established with Britain in a variety of fields, including in the energy sector, and cooperation is continuing successfully.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain, the development of joint projects, regional cooperation and other issues.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings from David Cameron and asked to convey his greetings to the Prime Minister of Great Britain.
