President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Oil Minister of Iran, Seyed Masoud Mir Kazemi.

Mentioning the successful development of bilateral relations in every field, President Ilham Aliyev also added that the ties in energy sector also hold a great history. Having emphasized the importance of defining new areas of cooperation, the President also talked about the necessity of exploring new opportunities in energy cooperation, where such potential exists. President Ilham Aliyev said the exchange of ideas regarding expansion of ties had taken place on a high level in the energy sector and underscored the necessity of implementing the already agreed issues. 

Seyed Masoud Mir Kazemi delivered the greetings of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad to the President. Having talked about the importance of the documents signed by the President in the previous year regarding the development of bilateral relations, in particular, in the field of energy cooperation, the Minister said the discussions would continue during his visit to Baku. Seyed Masoud Mir Kazemi emphasized that historically relations between the two countries had been on a good level, including the energy sphere, and expressed his confidence in further development of these ties.

The President expressed his gratitude for greetings of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and requested his greetings to be delivered to the Iranian President in response.
