Following their private meeting, an extended meeting of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Romanian President Traian Băsescu was held in presence of the delegations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants:

- Dear Mr. President!

Distinguished guests!

I cordially welcome you in Azerbaijan, welcome to our country!

We attach great importance to Your visit. I am confident that your visit will be fruitful and will yield good results.

Our relations carry strategic character. We conduct successful cooperation in every field. We have discussed in detail all these issues during our private meeting and realized once again that the ties between Romania and Azerbaijan are on the highest level. We have achieved great results in political, economic, humanitarian fields and in every direction, and I am positive that Your visit will contribute to development of the already existing ties.

Welcome once again.

Romanian President Traian Băsescu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome:

- Honorable Mr. President! I am very grateful that you have invited us to your country. Based on this invitation, I have visited Azerbaijan again. We will discuss our bilateral relations and get an opportunity to meet my dear friend during this visit.

With regards to Azerbaijan-Romanian relations, I think we have comprehensive relations. This is thanks to realization of the issues discussed during previous visits. Hence, we look at our future meetings with confidence. This is because we have discussed very valuable and important topics with You today.
