President Ilham Aliyev attended ceremony to launch drinking water supply in Shahbuz city and surrounding villages

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended a ceremony to launch drinking water supply and sewage systems in Shahbuz district and surrounding villages as part of his visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The head of state was informed about the work done under the project of "Reconstruction of drinking water supply and sewage systems in Shahbuz district center and surrounding villages".

The construction work started in 2012. The project saw the construction of water system in the city of Shahbuz and Kichikoba and Dayanigli villages, as well as a sewage system in the city of Shahbuz.

Water purification device will provide the population and industrial area with ecologically clean drinking water 24 hours a day till 2045.

Two fresh water reservoirs with the capacity of 2500 cubic metres each were built.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed a water purification installation.

As a result of the implementation of the project, 15,300 people in the city of Shahbuz and Kichikoba and Dayanigli villages will be continuously provided with fresh and environmentally clean drinking water that meets World Health Organisation standards.

The head of state then pressed a button to launch drinking water supply and sewage systems in Shahbuz district center and surrounding villages.
