Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan phoned Ilham Aliyev

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on July 6.

The Turkish President extended his deepest condolences to the President of Azerbaijan and relatives of two Azerbaijani civilians – a woman and her granddaughter - who were killed by the Armenian armed forces` shelling.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked the Turkish President for the phone call and condolences.

The head of state noted that the incident is another military crime committed by the Armenian armed forces against peaceful Azerbaijani civilians. "This bloody crime perpetrated against peaceful civilians is another manifestation of Armenian barbarism. Armenia's political leadership bears full responsibility for this military crime."

During the phone conversation, the presidents touched upon the issues relating to the World Oil Congress to be held in Turkey in a few days, and different aspects of friendly and brotherly Turkish-Azerbaijani relations.

On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev thanked President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his brotherly position, and once again extended his gratitude for the condolences.
