First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva met with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim.

Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President thanked Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim for his meaningful speech at the Baku Forum. Describing the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries as exemplary, Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva said Azerbaijan accords great importance to this relationship. Mehriban Aliyeva stressed that Azerbaijan and Turkey support each other within international organizations, adding that the people and government of Azerbaijan always feel and highly appreciate this support. The First Vice-President highlighted the importance of large-scale projects jointly initiated and supported by Azerbaijan and Turkey both to the region and Europe. She said it is the relations of friendship and brotherhood that lie at the heart of success of such projects. "Successful relations have been established between our countries in many areas and they are strengthening every day," said Mehriban Aliyeva, adding that joint activities will continue yielding fruits. The First Vice-President thanked Turkey for supporting Azerbaijan`s fair position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and building the world community`s awareness of this. She expressed hope that the conflict will be settled soon within the framework of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and based on the norms and principles of international law. Mehriban Aliyeva stressed that nothing can damage the friendly relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim thanked for invitation to participate in the 6th Global Baku Forum. He said that Azerbaijan is a friendly and brotherly country for Turkey. "Azerbaijan and Turkey are one nation, two states," he said, adding that brotherly relations are strengthening year by year. He said that the large-scale energy and transport projects are both improving the countries’ economic power and bringing them closer to each other. Binali Yildirim stressed the importance of mutual investments and highly appreciated the activity of businessmen of the two countries. The Turkish prime minister noted that Turkey will always support Azerbaijan’s fair stance on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in all international organizations.
