Ilham Aliyev received credentials of incoming Russian ambassador

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bocharnikov.

Ambassador Mikhail Bocharnikov reviewed a guard of honor.

Mikhail Bocharnikov presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev then spoke with the ambassador.

The head of state said that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are successfully developing in political, economic, energy, military-technical, humanitarian and other spheres. President Ilham Aliyev described the ties between the two countries as strategic partnership relations. Noting that relations between the two countries have a rich history, President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that these ties will continue to develop successfully and dynamically.

Ambassador Mikhail Bocharnikov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed him to make efforts to further strengthen ties with Azerbaijan during his diplomatic tenure. He pointed out that Russia-Azerbaijan bilateral ties are developing successfully in all areas. Noting that ongoing development processes in Azerbaijan in all spheres are followed with great interest in Russia, Mikhail Bocharnikov underlined that he was deeply impressed with the landscaping work carried out in Baku.

They also exchanged views over prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
