Ilham Aliyev received delegation led by Russian Minister of Internal Affairs

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

Describing Vladimir Kolokoltsev`s visit to Azerbaijan as a good sign of the bilateral relations, the head of state hailed mutual activity between the two countries` ministries of internal affairs. Noting that Azerbaijan and Russia are friendly countries, President Ilham Aliyev said that the two states are actively cooperating in all areas. In this regard, the head of state expressed satisfaction with the implementation of very fruitful cooperation between the two countries` ministries of internal affairs.

Touching upon bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Russia, President Ilham Aliyev described his official visit to the Russian Federation in September and Russian President Vladimir Putin`s trip to Azerbaijan as a clear example of the nature of mutual activity and confidence between the two countries. The head of state underlined that during these visits relations between the law enforcement bodies were discussed and praised among other issues.

Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev thanked for the reception. He pointed out that warm words said by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva when she received participants of the Baku-hosted meeting of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the member states of the CIS this July were welcomed by the event participants.

Touching upon bilateral relations between the two countries, Vladimir Kolokoltsev said the fact that five meetings have been held between the heads of state in the past year shows that it is important to strengthen the strategy of development of these ties. At the same time, the documents signed by the heads of state of the Caspian littoral states in Aktau also gave impetus to the mutual activity of the law enforcement bodies.

They exchanged views over cooperation prospects.
