President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Ayan Palace hotel in Tovuz.

While reviewing the new tourist facility, the President was informed that the construction of the hotel had begun in March 2008. It has been the biggest tourism project in the district. The area around the five-storey hotel has been extensively landscaped and various ornamental trees and shrubs planted.

President Aliyev was informed that foreign furniture and accessories were used in the interior finishing of the building which was designed in the avant-garde architectural style. The hotel is well suited for the leisure of guests and operates a 120-seat restaurant. There is also a 700-seat hall adjacent to the hotel.

During familiarization with the hall the President was informed that it has the necessary conditions for conducting international and national events and conferences. The hall is also suited for hosting various receptions and presentation. It is equipped with modern sound and lighting systems. The hotel will operate a round-the-clock 70-seat bar, offices and shops.

It was noted that the Ayan Palace has 65 rooms meeting the highest standards. The Presidential Suite is located on the third floor.

When examining the rooms, President Aliyev was informed that the hotel would provide top quality services existing in the global hospitality industry. The rooms have all the conditions for maximum relaxation of guests. All the rooms are equipped with a digital safe, a mini-bar, a ventilation system, a satellite dish, an international telephone line and wireless Internet. The rooms command beautiful panoramic views of Tovuz.

The President toured the SPA and wellness center located in the basement of the hotel. The fully equipped center will operate fitness areas for men and women, an indoor pool, a sauna, Turkish and Finnish baths, massage and hydrotherapy rooms. There is also a 40-seat meeting room at the hotel.

It was indicated that the hotel currently employs 50 people, 90 per cent of whom are local residents. Foreign experts have conducted courses for them. There are plans to bring the number of employees to 110 in the coming months.

It was noted that Ayan Palace is located opposite the Heydar Aliyev Culture and Recreation Park.

Hotel guests can have rest in the park as well. The Tovuz Olympic Center is also nearby.

It was mentioned that the opening of the Ayan Palace hotel would pave the way for more tourists to visit the north-western region of Azerbaijan.
